Action Aid Hellas(AAH) is searching for an Evia Area Manager, to join a global movement of committed individuals working to further human rights and defeat poverty.

We are an independent, international organization that has been working since 1972 with over 15 million people in 45 countries for a world free from poverty and injustice.

The program aims at supportingNorthern Evia’spopulation's active participation in rebuilding local society post-disaster, in terms of improving access to social, civil, and economic life, during the early stages of recovery and reconstruction. The24th-month program, bringing together 4 NGOs, unfolds through anOpen Centerand a web of activities throughout various locations of the area and aims at:

  • responding to the psychosocial needs of the population empowering the most vulnerable at a community level with emphasis on women and youth
  • supporting those willing to undertake agricultural entrepreneurship activities to become the pioneers of a future production model for sustainable economic diversification, and
  • investing in children and youth, through educational activities, unlocking their potential to become active and informed citizens, aware and proud of their local communities’ past and future

The Evia Area Manager will:

  • Participate in the set up and manage the implementation of AA’s programmatic plan in the Open Community Centre and Evia Programmatic Area, along with allocated resources and approved budget.
  • Oversee employees and partners working in the physical space and/or virtually for the Evia programme to successfully implement designated tasks and ensure smooth and effective day-to-day operations.
  • Create and deliver regular reports to senior leadership and contribute to the strategic and operational reviewing and planning.
  • Participate in AAH’s regular departmental or cross-departmental meetings
  • Manage all partner relations – monitor KPIs, ensure that all partner organizations operate according to AAH standards and procedures, ensure accordance to MOUs and working principles
  • Represent the organization vis-à-vis local stakeholders, including public officials, local and regional authorities, other institutional actors, and civil society, and manage relations with respective key actors

Requirements

We are currently recruiting a dynamic professional with master’s degree in social, political studies, international relations, business administration, or other related fields and at least five (5) years of working experience in coordinating projects and developing strategies, plans, monitoring budgets, and resources. We are looking for candidates with proven experience in project implementation in the field, management of diverse, dispersed, and distance-based resources, and in the multiple stakeholder’s engagement and management. Additionally, experience in managing teams and organizational development is required, along with strong project management, problem-solving and analytical skills.
